Meet the Family Behind Muddy Boots

We’re Josh and Abby, the husband-and-wife team behind Muddy Boots Clothing Company. We’re based in Minnesota, raising three boys, and sharing our love of hunting, fishing, camping, and exploring with the next generation.

For our family, time outside means slowing down and spending time together. It’s watching our boys cast a line, ask questions about animal tracks, and discover something they hadn’t noticed before. Those everyday experiences are the inspiration behind Muddy Boots.

Why We Started

We wanted outdoor-inspired clothing for our kids that reflected the things they love, with designs we’d enjoy wearing ourselves. That idea grew into a collection of tees, long sleeves, sweatshirts, and hoodies for toddlers, kids, and adults.

Our designs take inspiration from the woods, the water, and the traditions we’re passing down to our boys. We favor an understated outdoor style that feels at home on a fishing trip, around a campfire, or during an ordinary school day.

We’re building Muddy Boots while working full time and raising our family. As parents, we’ve come to appreciate how quickly these years pass. Growing this business is part of our hope for more flexibility and more time together, doing what matters most to us.

What Matters to Us

We want our boys to grow up curious about nature and respectful of the wildlife and places around them. As a hunting and fishing family, that means teaching patience, responsibility, and gratitude for the animals that provide food for our table.

It also means picking up after ourselves, taking time to observe, and understanding that enjoying the outdoors comes with a responsibility to care for it.

That’s the spirit we bring to Muddy Boots: family traditions, respect for nature, and room for kids to explore.
